City ready to give bonus to government workers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The City Government is ready to release the P10,000 Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) to its employees, as authorized by President Benigno Aquino III.

“We are ready to release the PEIs,” said Mayor Oscar Rodriguez during the oath-taking ceremonies of newly elected barangay officials held at the Heroes Hall here Tuesday.
Last November 25, Aquino signed Administrative Order 3 granting a one-time maximum amount of P10,000 to government employees on top of their Christmas bonus and 13th month pay.

President Aquino had said government employees deserve to be rewarded with the PEI in recognition of their collective participation in said fiscal and operational performance in 2010, and to motivate them towards sustained and improved productivity.

Section 1 of the order states that the PEIs would be granted to employees hired on a permanent, temporary, casual or contractual status, and are still in the service as of November 30 and employees who have rendered for the year at least four months of service as of November 30.

Employees who have rendered less than four months of service as of November 30 shall also be entitled to the PEI on pro-rated basis, as follows: three months but less than four months, 40 percent; two months but less than three months, 30 percent; one month but less than two months, 20 percent; and less than one month, 10 percent.

The payment of the PEIs to all government employees shall be made not earlier than December 15. (Ria de Fiesta)
