HAU to represent Central Luzon in 10 Prisaa events
ANGELES CITY – The Holy Angel University (HAU) will represent Central Luzon in 10 events in the Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) national games next month.
The University’s college players beat their counterparts from various schools and universities in Central Luzon in the recent regional championships held in Olongapo City.
The HAU athletes dominated the following events: basketball (women), badminton (women), chess (men and women), table tennis (women), tae kwon do (women), beach volleyball (women), lawn tennis (women), and karate-do (men and women).
In a related development, the HAU women’s basketball team presented their Prisaa championship trophy to HAU president Dr. Arlyn S. Villanueva, who revealed to them that as a former basketball player herself (Ateneo), she understood the rigors and challenges of training.
Coach Marcelino Henson said from the start, the team had set its goal on the championship trophy and to make the University the best women’s basketball team not just in the region but also in the country.
“The team is strong not only because of my players’ individual strengths but the heart they give to every game,” Henson said.
“They complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses and so together they are stronger.”
The team also recently won the first United Central Luzon Association-Philippine Collegiate Championship League championships held at the Bulacan State University.
The members of the winning team are: Kristine Abriam, Joyce Antonio, Diane Co, Angelica David, Irene Dellaban, Kimberly Franco, Fatima Fuertez, Carla Garcia, Hannah Guiao, Cheenee Malang, Krizelle Palo, Natalie Sue Panlilio, Chrysanthemum Hyacinth Robillos, Joanabelle Salalila, Kristina Joy Santos, Katrina Sarmiento, Donna Grace Sarte, Bernadine Sevilla, Camille Tatlonghari and Chalsea Saloria.
