DHVTSU Sto. Tomas campus to benefit indigent students
STO. TOMAS, Pampanga–More than 900 indigent incoming college students are expected to benefit from the new satellite campus of Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) in Barangay Moras here.
This came as the rehabilitation of the old and abandoned buildings by the Department of Health (DOH) assigned to house the said DHVTSU campus has already been completed.
It was learned that the provincial government spent some P17-million to ensure that the new DHVTSU satellite campus will operate next school year.
Governor Lilia Pineda, along with mayor Jun Tetangco and board member Fritzie Olga Dizon-David on Tuesday inspected the buildings with at least 19 classrooms and administrative facilities.
DHVTSU Sto. Tomas campus is envisioned by the provincial government to provide more educational opportunities to indigents coming the neighboring towns of Apalit, San Simon, Macababe and even the City of San Fernando.
It will offer courses under the Ladderized Education Program (LEP) and short-term courses duly registered under Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). ● (PNA)
