Cycling enthusiasts join Mansfield Bikefest 2012
ANGELES CITY–Some 120 cycling enthusiasts joined the HomExperience’s Mansfield Residences Bikefest 2012 in this city over the weekend.
Anna Joy “AJ” Dacoycoy, public relations officer of the Homexperience’s Mansfield Residence, said the route of the bike fest started at the front entrance of the 1st class subdivision located at Barangay Sto. Domingo here and finished in the same area.
However, Dacoycoy clarified that the bike fest is not a race competition but only a fun activity among cyclists who promote healthy lifestyle.
The route, about 30 kilometers long, covered some portions of the Clark Freeport.
With the event, Dacoycoy said, the participants will be able achieve the prime active lifestyle they are longing for.
Jecyl Estrada, one of the spectators, a food-handler and a resident of the City of San Fernando, said she was there to give support to a friend participating in the bike run.
“I also like biking,” she added.
Dacoycoy said that that the Mansfield cycling event was made possible in cooperation with Recreational Outdoor eXchange (ROX) located at the Marquee Mall, also in this city.
The event is to launch the newest campaign of the project tagged as “prime Active Life.”
Jaylord Celestino, who at 14 years old is the youngest participant, said “Kaysa naman mapunta sa drugs, heto na lang at masaya pa.”
Among the highlights of the event was the participation of guests who danced to the groove of the Zumba Fitness.
At dusk, there was also the lighting of the eye catching Site Landmark showing the project’s name and considered the newest attraction in the heart of Barangay Sto. Domingo.
The organizers also presented awards to the Most Unique Bicycle, Family Bikers of the year and Mansfield biker of the year.
Reyes won as having the most unique bicycle; father and son Jojo and Jonathan Pamintuan got the family biker of the year; and Toti Sachez was declared the Mansfield biker of the year.
Dacoycoy said Mansfield Residences belongs to the prime projects of Homexperience by Hausland Development Corporation.
