Aquino’s high satisfaction ratings result of government reforms

A HIGH satisfaction rating for President Benigno Aquino III reported in a Social Weather Survey done this month is a result of successful government reforms, the President’s communications secretary said Friday.
Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., in a text message to reporters, said a net satisfaction rating of +58, up from +56 in September, reported by survey firm Social Weather Stations can be attributed to “concrete gains” from social and economic reforms.
The +58 rating falls under “very good” under the scale used by SWS, which considers a rating of at least +70 “excellent”, and a score of -70 and below as “execrable.”
He said the survey, conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults, show that “people are affirming their trust and confidence in the President’s leadership.”
“They are rallying behind his call for good governance,” he said.
The President’s net satisfaction rating was highest in the rest of Luzon, at +60, followed by Visayas, where respondents gave him a net satisfaction rating of +59. Respondents in Mindanao reported a net satisfaction rating of +56.
The survey was conducted from December 3 to 7, after Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was arrested for electoral sabotage but before the House of Representatives impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona, a move that the President supported.
